Danú
Danú is a 43ft steel Bruce Roberts ketch. That means she has two masts. She was built in 1993 by a metal fabricator , Tony Kirby, in Poole, Dorset. Tony and his partner Janet sailed her across many Oceans until we bought her in 2011 on the river Guadiana which is on the border of Spain and Portugal, for the price of an average family car. Peter sailed her home with some friends and then we got to work on a renovation which lasted until 2013. This included a new engine, electronics upgrade, new sails, rigging and a brand new engine. Following this refit we were ready to test her by sailing to Lofoten in Norway and south to Galicia in Spain. With these trips on Danú, we knew we were set with a fantastic family cruiser which can go anywhere.
