Vera
Vera is a hydrographer and works for the Marine Institute on Ireland's national seabed mapping programe, INFOMAR. A hydrographer is someone who measures and charts the physical features of the seabed.
Vera started sailing with her family at the age of 10 bulding her experience up from a young age sailing to France and Scotland with her parents and siblings. During the 90’s her focus changed to mountaineering, climbing and traveling in Greenland, the Alps, N America and the Himalaya. It was through mountaineering that Vera and Peter met in 1999. In 2004 Vera and Peter crossed the Atlantic Ocean when they sailed the Atlantic circuit from Ireland to Cuba and back, now they return with children Lilian and Ruairí in tow.
